Jack started his RAF career in the ATC 397 Sqd Hemsworth, he joined the RAF in July 1943. After initial training at St Johns Wood he was posted to No 4 Radio School, Madley. He was commissioned in 1961 at RAF Jurby. He served with 101 Sqd, 8 Sqd, 24(c) Sqd, 216 Sqd and 57 Sqd. He was married to Marcella in 1946, they had three daughters and one son. Jack resigned his commission in 1966 following the death of his wife in 1965. He remarried in 1966 to Maureen and they had a daughter born in 1969. Jack became the Landlord of the white Hart public house in Castle Cary for some years and then went to work at Westlands as a Senior Lecturer to overseas students on helicopters. Jack will be missed.
